A TIME TO CONNECT, A PLACE TO LEARN: The national ABI conference
ABI Conference 2007by Jay Nordgaard, Redwood Glen Executive Director,  and member of the 2008 Conference Planning Team

I have been a part of ABI since its inception in 2000 and over the past 8 years I have found great value in our presenters at the national ABI conferences.  The 2007 Conference was no exception.  Glandion Carney gave us great insight into Spiritual Formation and two Church Mutual representatives conveyed much about risk management and how to keep our sites at reduced risk.

Over the years I have made great connections through ABI with other camp directors and board members, several that I contact regularly for input, feedback, wisdom, prayer, and support.  ABI has been a lifeline for me over the years and I look forward to seeing many of you at the 2008 ABI conference here at Redwood Glen as we learn together how to be more effective in our ministries.

If you struggle with keeping organized and moving forward, then Kelli Forrister will give you some great tools from David Allen's book "Getting Things Done."  Stan White and Mike Pate bring years of camping experience with them from two of the largest Christian camps in California.  Sharon Kosch has been involved in the American Camp Association for many years and has been instrumental with accreditation standards nationally and consulting with camps regionally.  Our 2008 conference is very deep in the quality of our presenters.

You won't be disappointed if you come.  You will come away with several tools to make your camp and conference center even stronger.  More information is below and on the
ABI website.
